I’m already using minox for my brows. They’re shedding so don’t mind the bald brows. But I’ve been using an eye patch for my lazy eye, my eye has always been obviously bigger since i was a kid.

literally looks like a pirate eye patch. its important to exercise your "free" eye while wearing this
How does it work? Like it keeps your bigger eye closed? And how often/when do you use or wear it ig

back story: i have mild exotropia (a type of lazy eye) on my left eye and it causes my eye to drift outwards.
my right eye turned out bigger looking because it uses more muscle and strains because its my stronger eye.

how it works:
  1. you figure out which is your stronger eye and which eye has lazy eye.
  2. put the patch on the stronger eye and train the weaker eye
  3. you can try by reading a book, doing eye exercises, even writing/studying. because your weaker eye has something to follow.
i do this daily. i started by only doing 20-40 minutes for first day to get my eye used to the feeling and then i started wearing it for 3-6 hours. and i just wear it and do whatever i need to do.

Since my weaker eye is being used more it allows my stronger eye to relax, which helps with my symmetry,

I’m lowkey curious about this because one of my eyes appears slightly bigger than the other but I’m not sure it would be considered lazy eye and more like the actual eyelid so I’m not sure if it would work.

You go out in public wearing that?

no i usually wear it at home, since i dont go out much...

if youre not sure, i'd recommend taking a picture of your eyes. and flip it to see if your eyelids are different in size or if your bottom eyelid droops lower. for me it was both.

also heres a way to test lazy eye:

If it’s the former I’m guessing it probably wouldn’t work then right? Like the upper eyelid for example

Yes former as in if they’re just different in sizes and the bottom lid doesn’t droop lower
if they're for sure different sizes, it could be more of a skeletal problem than a neuromuscular problem.

do u mind pming a pic??

Lasik is not worth the complications.

I’m only 20 so i can still train my eyes to work better. So the eye patch is best for me or I’d have to go get prism eyeglasses
you think eye patch would work for a 15yr old too?? i mean ur 20 and it works for you so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for me

It can definitely work for a 15 year old. Hypothetically, correction of amblyopia (lazy eye) is usually affected by your brain having a lack neuro connections to one of your eyes. When you wear an eye patch on the stronger eye, it helps with training the weaker eye by allowing the brain to form stronger neuro connections.

You’re young so your brain’s ability to adapt is still there. It only really declines in your thirties
