Remember that most factors are outside your control. Genes determine a great deal and environment plays a huge role, the same environment that you had no choice being raised in.
Sometimes you knock yourself on the head for your past and present mistakes. "I should have done this or said that. I should not have acted that way." But you did not know much about life and there was no one to guide you back then. You made the decisions that seemed to be the right ones. It's not like you were sabotaging yourself on purpose.
Free will is either non-existent or very limited. It has been found in studies that before you have a conscious thought, parts of your brain light up and give signals to your neocortex so their desires are put forth. In other words, the mistakes you committed were mostly a nebulous brain process out of your control. Don't kick yourself too much for it.
No matter what the future holds, communities like this will always be a thing. The internet is a great thing. We will find each other somehow. If this forum goes down, others like it will emerge. And there is no such thing as individual experiences; we are in this together. You're not weak for crying and letting your emotions out. I love you. It's not your fault.
