Trust me, the adaptation is not perfect but it does what an OP Live action adaptation should do : Not tone down the cartoonish or nekketsu-esque aspects of the early stages of the manga and compress the story a bit to make it more digestible. Imo it's a great way for newcomers to get into One Piece, the actors are passionate, there's lots of budget and it's visually colorful. It's not a replacement to the manga ofc but it's pleasing and translates well the feeling of the East Blue Saga into live action.
