Likewise it is not desirable to have a garden in which freedom of growth is ensured. Weeds (degeneracy and impurity) will take over in a matter of time and subsequently strangle all flowers (social virtues), vegetables (social cohesion and mass culture) and other plants (society).

Obviously freedom of speech isn't good in every situation, because retards can speak without thinking but its benefits for society outweigh the risks, especially when kept in check by social norms

Virtues and social cohesion can still thrive even if harmful ideas and impurities exist, the real problem only appears if they actually take over
