Oh but i felt genuinely insulted by that response. Assuming that im not good looking is unnecessary and unfair and even if I werent, its still not a helpful comment to make.
Also telling someone to just look in the mirror doesnt actually answer the question. We see ourselves every day so our brain normalizes our appearance. Thats exactly why looking in the mirror doesnt magically create motivation and my question wasnt about whether Im attractive or not It was about how to stay consistent and actively improve my looks not assumptions or dismissive comments
