The way they do it at .org requires alot of effort and time. I ain't doing something they do once a year every month. I don't even want to do it now let alone put more effort into tbh.

Previously users didn't really get to nominate users and MotM votes were staff only. So it was solely a staff given specific award until somewhat recently.
