- Gives appearance of longer face, bc the chin before was so recessed that it appeared to slide into the neck from the front
- Can see the projection from the front
- Genio stretches the skin forward to give a defined front view of the jawline
- Lips appear smaller: lower lip commonly droops with a recessed chin, genio makes it tighter

Good question. Technically speaking, it only gives the allusion of a longer face, it doesn't actually make the chin longer. A standard sliding genioplasty only adds to the profile of the chin, if you want it wider or narrower it is another more expensive route, but similar process. Unless you have a horse tier midface/fwhr it's nothing to worry about, it just gives a sharper, more tapered jawline look from the front. Like this:

Its important to note that she lost NO weight in the before and after pictures. Her jawline looks much sharper and more tapered
 
Can't wait to get a sliding genio tbh
