before you do any of this, make sure to do research into it

1. custom deodorant
ingredients:
• arrowroot powder
• magnesium hydroxide
• coconut oil
• shea butter
• beeswax
• essential oils (your choice)

recipe:
gather the following
• 3 tablespoons arrowroot powder
• 3 tablespoons magnesium hydroxide
• 2 tablespoons coconut oil
• 1 tablespoon shea butter
• 1 tablespoon beeswax
• 10-15 drops of essential oil (choose your preferred scent)

• melt the ingredients
in a double boiler (a bowl over a pot with water), melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter together over low heat until fully combined

• mix dry ingredients
in a separate bowl, mix the arrowroot powder and magnesium hydroxide

• combine
remove the melted mix from heat, and slowly add the dry ingredients, stirring constantly to avoid lumps

• add essential oils
add your chosen essential oils, and then mix thoroughly

• pour into container
pour the mix into a clean, empty deodorant container or a small glass jar. allow it to cool and solidify at room temperature

• application
put a pea-sized amount under dry underarms, this should be sufficient
** allow the deodorant to absorb into your skin before dressing **
• customizable
you can tweak the recipe to suit your preferences

• moisturizing
coconut oil and shea butter (self explanatory)

• natural antibacterial properties
some essential oils provide natural antibacterial benefits

• gentle on skin
less irritating ingredients

reasoning behind the ingredients:
arrowroot powder = absorbs moisture without clogging your pores
magnesium hydroxide = neutralizes odor without irritating skin
coconut oil = moisturizes and has antibacterial properties
shea butter = adds moisture and helps bind ingredients
beeswax = helps the deodorant stay solid at room temperature
essential oils = fragrance and additional antibacterial properties
2. shaving your armpits ( AstroSky )
• applying water or gel to soften the hairs
• shave in the direction of growth to minimize irritation
• apply cold water, moisturizer, or aftershave (alcohol free)
• reduces surface area for sweat to adhere to, thereby limiting bacterial growth
• >hair traps moisture and reduces airflow
>humid environment
>bacteria thrives
shaving helps keep your underarm drier
• easier to clean
• deodorant more effective

be cautious with baking soda, while its excellent for neutralizing odors, it can irritate your skin
(i experienced significant irritation from the baking soda)

benzoyl peroxide is great, effectively reduces bacteria on the skin
