I liked how it started in s1. s2 felt a bit boring. s3 was just fighting and being overly dramatic (I have few episodes left).

I feel the characters are a bit too one-dimensional, there isn't much genuine complexity, just some forced, overblown cringe backstories that come off as absurd and non-human.

For me I found the opposite, I felt interested in the characters, I really like s2’s ending aswell and was interested in seeing more. S3 does seem a bit weird though. From what I remember I liked the flying whale part and the part where Subaru goes into the old house with the mansion owner being there.
