Honestly I thought the casting was pretty good. I'm not sure I would say it's amazing, but I think the actor should've been picked off of merit not how she looks to the in-game character. I think they did that here. There's no point on creating a 1:1 to the games anyways. It's a new Ellie and she should look like a different character in my opinion.
I also didn't realize season 2 was out already.
