Sounds like a good plan so far. Flesh it out some and set some goals, what you would deem as a 'getting off of the track' and what to do to get back on track if you do feel like you did 'get off of the rail' at some point.
 
I'm not sure what this means in this context but its important to find a strategy where I'll end up doing it everyday no matter how awful I feel since my starting point is basically "can barely run without falling"

I guess what I mean is, let's say I count eating beyond a calorie count as a 'failure' for that day, what can you do to make sure you don't crumble from the failure?

Or, let's say, you skipped a day. What can you do to reassure yourself you're not going to give up just because of it?

I can move on, I'll just have to wait longer for results and figure out what the trigger was or what I miscounted. And I meant it in the context of making sure I do the exercises each day unless I for some reason genuinely can't.
