ill start by saying that she absolutely mogs me, and is objectively one of the prettiest girls in my year. makeup in any form isnt allowed here so when someones pretty you know theyre legit

shes the only person i can actually stand at school so im always walking with her between classes and during lunch, and the amount of times ive been in the middle of a conversation with her, a random both of us dont know comes up and compliments her “hi, i just wanted to say youre so pretty!” “i love your style!” “your __ is so cute!” and acting like im invisible is more than i can count. It happens really often.

i used to cope by telling myself that it might be because she puts more effort into her appearance, clothes and hairstyling but its obvious shes just better looking now. im already ugly enough and always standing next to her feels like self sabotage icl

i feel so bitter but i cant feel envious towards her because shes also the sweetest girl i know and i feel guilty even typing this out so i can only direct my negative emotions towards myself, resulting in even more deprecating self hatred jfl

why cant you envy her if all that just luck

u’re not invisible, you’re just standing next to someone who gets a lot of external attention
that doesn’t make you less attractive or less valuable, it just changes how people react in the moment.

also you clearly like her as a person, don’t ruin that connection by turning it into self-hate

have you tried putting the same effort for yourself

uhhuh, the only remarks about it i get are from my friend group which is like normal girl behavior
nothing like randoms from the grades below interrupting a convo just to compliment me 💀

If It bothers u so much u should just start putting effort into urself as well

i absolutely do like her shes literally my best friend of four years, ive been struggling with these feelings for awhile and it hasnt impacted our friendship itself so far so i guess its fine
though i should probably figure out how to stop feeling like this

this isnt about me being ugly its just the constant reminder of knowing you wont reach the level someone naturally beautiful when you put in the same amount effort they do

i get what you’re saying, but i think you’re mixing two different things. yes, she might naturally get more attention because of her looks, that’s just how social dynamics work. but improving yourself isn’t only about attractiveness. if you focus too much on that, you’re basically competing in a game you can’t really control long-term. the healthier angle is just working on yourself in general (confidence, fitness, style, social skills), not trying to “match” someone else’s level of attention

ty angel

prove me wrong blud people evolved to feel envy
i mentioned shes also the kindest person i know and i feel guilty even making this post. I do feel envious sometimes but i never act on it
im usually more annoyed at the randoms interrupting us than her

Yes you can teach yourself to suppress feelings obviously n***a
You can suppress feelings but you cant get rid of them n***a? Like i can hide my anger and still be fucking pissed
Not how that shit works it starts eating you from the inside

i forgot to mention that were the exact same height and weight so this is purely just based off her face attractiveness which kinda makes it sting more idk

so what you can totally feel envy its luck based she didnt do something good in her previous life to deserve neither did you do something bad envy is natural you simply just lack looks which your brain feels is unfair and its normal chill out you are not a bad person
