We all know Accutane is very popular in this community, but i promise you i'll put you on for a better option. Coming up in this thread:
1. My experience and yours
2. Accutane and it's side effects
3. The better alternative (imo)
1. All of us acne victims have had bad experiences, whether they're interactions with the opposite gender, or just having no confidence in yourself because your skin is looking particularly bad that day. I get it, i've been through it, i've been as desperate as you probably are. No, you aren't unhygienic, you aren't dirty, and you aren't a loser for your skin. While diet plays a big part, most of it is also just genetic, both my father and mother had severe acne and so do i.
2. Accutane has been mentioned so many times when i ask about how to ease my acne, and you've probably heard it so many times too. Yes, it's very effective, and that's why it's so popular in this community, but is it actually worth all the side effects? let's see what it can do to a person's acne:

As you can see, acne will be totally obliterated by Accutane. Of course, this doesn't come without cost, Accutane has plenty of bad side effects like:
•note: these side effects don't occur in every case
-Dry everthing; think of constant dry lips, dry skin, dry eyes. Dry nasal passage can occur too, and this can lead to frequent nose bleeds
-Sensitive skin, skin will need more protection from the sun
-Skeletal complaints like joint pain are also common when using Accutane
More serious side effects:
-Birth defects to the point where a baby can be severely disfigured, very very important for the women here
-Mental health problems, If you're already depressed, don't even bother. Accutane is known for giving you more negative thoughts
If you're thinking 'That's a lot of side effects', then know that i didn't even mention some possibilities. Also, be aware of the fact that acne can come back after treatments and many users note having to treat it more than once.
3. Aklief, my saviour. I went to a dermatologist because i was tired of my acne. She put me on Aklief:
It's less intense than Accutane, but dermatologists still consider it heavy stuff. I have been using it for 4 months now (Which does include a period of 2 weeks where i stopped using) and these are the only side effects i experienced:
-Dry skin, i countered this using aquaphor. Be ready to smear every morning tho
-Buring sensation on skin, just use sunscreen tho
Very important that you read aklief's instructions and **Only use in the afternoon** since the sun can be brutal after just smearing Aklief. Make sure to smear sunscreen when you go in the sun the day after, cus even after not having used aklief in 3 days, i still experienced a burning sensation on my skin when in the sun for like an hour
Thank you for listening to my presentation
