Depends on original length + progress can compound but the only thing that's stopping is a plateau due to bone remodelling and denser bones meaning you need to progressively overload. Doing it to the femur and tibia you can expect around 2 inches in a decade from average 5'9 frame.

Both methods are legit, as long as you're not twisting 500kg of weight starting out, your body can adapt to forces exerted similarly by tennis players, baseball players. All with +2cm lengthning in both forearm bones and humerus. The problem with legs like @heightquest explained on instagram is that feet cannot grip anything like you would with a dumbell.
