Story Heightpill story about my friend. (short read)

So me and him were friends since elementary school and for the longest time he loved basketball. He was really good at basketball and always tried his very best and always showed up to practice first. He had a natural gift for basketball literally was better than some middle schoolers while he was like 8-9 years old it was crazy and when he was in middleschool he played for our cities highschool team. Long story short He was very good but super short for his age like 165 cm (5'4) and people used to bully him for it and coaches used to not play him in games for the same reason sometimes. Some time passes he has grown to 5'6-5'7 while all his teammates are easily 6'2+. I quit basketball because I lost passion for it but he still was playing everyday and in terms of scoring and dribbling and basketball iq he was the best by miles but sadly this is where the story gets bad. He gets really panicked that he stopped growing at 17 because at 16 and 17 he was the same height. So he gets his growth plates checked and they are fully fused. Knowing this information he works harder and harder and in highschool plays the top teams in my country but after he turned 18 he had no offers from any major schools just because they were too afraid to take the risk of putting a 5'7 on their team. The last I have heard of him he is working construction and drinking a lot....
