Hi, I’m sir_tbone (ig tbone for short) and I am currently at the start of adolescence (m. Now quite a few of you would say, “You’re so young, go out and enjoy life!” I disagree with this for 2 reasons:

  1. I, through my research on orthotropics, have concluded that orthotropic treatment decreases in effectiveness with age because it relies on remodelling growth patterns, which are most flexible during childhood and early adolescence.
  2. I would like to see how looksmaxxing techniques can develop a person through continued effort. This forum will be basically my internet diary, showing you all how I progress over the years.
A bit about myself:
  • Nationally, I am British, but I am ethnically Southern African. Although related distantly to the frankly obscene genetic advantage of West Africans, Southern Africans tend to have a pretty high muscular potential, but store quite a lot more fat naturally. I think this description fits me perfectly, as I have always been strong physically, but I usually carry quite a bit fat, particularly in my chest, and stomach.
  • My entire family, besides myself I guess, is obese. My hypothesis for this is that because both parents are extremely hard working individuals, they never had enough time to learn how to cook healthily. Their portion sizes, however, I have found over time are too big, so this has been transferred to the amount of food my sibling and I eat. I, out of my own willpower have recently lost weight (20kgs of it). I started at my very heaviest ever, at 100kgs and approx. 5’2, 1 year ago. I am now around 80kgs and 5’8. I did this by starving myself basically, engaging in excessive physical activity. It worked in the short term, but, right now, as I’m in the middle of a growth spurt, I can’t find the willpower to put the fork down.
  • I am pretty active, I play rugby for my school somewhere in the front row of a scrum, and I also play hockey and cricket for my school. I play football with my friends quite a bit, like any normal teenage boy does. I enjoy walking and jogs. From what I’ve said so far there is one thing that is missing. That thing is resistance training. Where I live it is impossible for someone my age to go to the gym, so calisthenics really is my only form of resistance training. The thing is, I am too heavy to lift myself up from a pushup, or even an incline pushup. So I gave up training calisthenics some time ago.
  • Now it’s time for the subject I think I care the most about: Genetics! (Specifically from my parents and their families). My mother passed onto me full eyebrows and brow fat, and strong cheekbones (I’m not sure how high), my father gave me a wide jaw. However from both sides, I have both a not very prominent maxilla, and a recessed chin. In terms of height, both of my parents were the shortest children in their families, BUT I have pretty tall uncles and aunts. I think I have one uncle who is 6’4. With the way I’m progressing I think I’m gonna be a pretty tall guy.
Aspirations and motivations

  • I want to maximise my potential as much as possible w/o surgery. I’m going to be vulnerable here and say that, because I went to a private school, I have been told that I act white, or sound white (I have a standard RP/South Eastern accent). I am quiet, calm and reserved, which is unlike the caricature of Black people. That, I believe, pushes me away from the Black crowd, a bit, because Black women value being ‘cool’ or ‘active’ so much. My reasoning is if I can push my appeal up enough, I’ll be able to attract all races. I am a staunch believer that if you can’t looksmaxx without going under the knife, your surgeries don’t fix your problems, they just hide them. Obviously, as a minor, that’s not gonna happen for me for quite some time.
  • I like the idea of ‘mogging’, because I have never been the most attractive person in a room. Mogging doesn’t just make you feel good, it is a net benefit on your life. The golden halo effect, as I have seen, is no joke. Why shouldn’t I try to get ahead if it has tangible benefits on my life?
Aight, thanks for reading me yap for a while. I appreciate any kind words or suggestions. I’ll probably post pictures soon, just not now because the lighting is trash where I’m at. Thanks, once again, everybody.

take to looksmaxxing with caution

Welcome to the forums. I'm assuming you've decided you won't stick around here, but I thought I'd still respond in case you decided to stay for a bit longer.

I am currently at the start of adolescence (m.

You're correct. Most people here will never tell a young person not to get orthodontics treatment, though, and the people who do are normally anti-orthodontic in general, not related to age. Other hardmaxxing treatments like plastic surgery are not optimal for adolescences, and so is not recommended.

One of the reasons why people tell adolescences not to looksmax, is because most kids won't or can't do anything about their appearance, not that it's not recommended. They have to ask their parents for help, and most parents won't help in that department, and most won't have money they can spend on their own. This is a big barrier towards looksmaxxing, counting looksmaxxing costs a lot of money and resources - a lot which kids naturally won't have. What ends up happening is kids can't/won't do anything, but enter 'blackpill' spaces and go down a rabbit hole that's difficult to get out of. Normally at that point, they've probably gone down more the incel or BDD pipeline rather than the looksmaxxing one, and so they're stuck where they're at.

It's not an attack on young people, as much as it is statistically it's unlikely for you guys to do a lot at such a young age. There's no point on burning your soul for something you guys can't control.

With that being said, orthodontics is normally the one thing people recommend to young people on here, so. You're good.

I would like to see how looksmaxxing techniques can develop a person through continued effort. This forum will be basically my internet diary, showing you all how I progress over the years.
It's a good way to keep track of progress. I suggest keeping a local copy on your computer/phone in case, though.

My entire family, besides myself I guess, is obese. My hypothesis for this is that because both parents are extremely hard working individuals, they never had enough time to learn how to cook healthily. Their portion sizes, however, I have found over time are too big, so this has been transferred to the amount of food my sibling and I eat. Starving is not the best long term method; it's not always about the quickest and simplest results. I won't explain in-depth why starving is not optimal for your situation, because I'm sure you've already done it knowing it's not the best route to take.

I will say though, in the off chance you're not aware, excessive physical activity is not ideal either. It can effect your hormones and other growth factors in a negative manner. You can experience exercise-induced hypogonadism, among a long list of other things. This thread is only related to it's connection to testosterone, but it's something you can apply to your health in general. Over exercising is never a good idea.

You don't need to go to the gym for resistance training, it can be done anywhere. It helps with your form and it's easier to have equipment that specializes in it, but it's not always a requirement.

With that being said, you should see if your family is willing to purchase you an at-home dumbbell set of some kind. They're not always cheap, but you could maybe pitch it as something for the household instead of just you. This was the set I used when I first started out. Adjustable, pretty cheap. Comes in a container for transport. It doesn't have the most comfortable grip, so I put fabric body tape around the handles so my hands felt more cushioned and not so slippery. Most other sets will be $100+ USD, so, it's not a bad price.

You can do pushups, crunches, jumping, and a bunch of other exercises. I know it's annoying not to have diversity in your routine, but stopping is not the solution, it's to keep going even if it gets boring.

Thx, I was looking around and saw that some of the takes were ridiculous. Tbf, ChatGPT is a better analyst than most of the people here.
Not sure if I agree with that, but if ChatGPT helps you then that's not a bad thing.

The thing is, I am too heavy to lift myself up from a pushup, or even an incline pushup. So I gave up training calisthenics some time ago.
You can't do even kneeled incline push-ups with enough volume and frequency ?

You can do wonder with a set of rings for other calisthenics exercises
