Morality are principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong. But is there a universal agreement on whats moraly right and moraly wrong. I read i about this in "the last days of socrates". But they based there argument on the greek gods.

I think it’s mostly if you’re doing something for only your betterment regardless of the effect it has on others or other things, that’s wrong

Utilitarianism is a good moral framework

Theres alot of ways to interpret the bible tho so there wont always be an agreement.
yes, but in general everyone agrees that things like r**e and murder are wrong according to the bible

Depends if you religious or not. I think emotions can help determine what is wrong or right most of the time if your not religious

I dont agree. If you have 3 dying people in the hospital and they all need different organs. 1 person walks in and is a match with every person. Do you think he should die so the other 3 persons can live or no? I dont think its moraly good to force the 1 person to die for the other 3 if he doesnt want to.

Do u agree with utilitarianism?

Emotions can be decieving, have you ever said something to someone out of anger thinking it was deserved but regretting it later?

yes, but in general everyone agrees that things like r**e and murder are wrong according to the bible
These are big things, try and put a defenition on morality that everyone understands and interprets the same. The bible also says to stone women if they have cheated. Alot of people would consider that moraly wrong

Emotions like pity and sadness. Empathy is good determinator. But yes emotions are deceiving but it could help determine what is wrong or right with religion

So you think people could define moral goodness based on emotions?

i don't think you can argue there exists some metaphysical morals like a "true good" and "true bad." Or if they exist, then i don't think we'll have access to them. but for humans there certainly is some morals that were shaped by evolution, i.e., killing is bad, in most cases.

so i don't think "our morals" are some cosmic truths or came from some god, it's just evolution + some influence from culture

Have you ever read Machiavelli, the book the prince has a lot about the topic
