Fun fact : Men aren't so different from women. We're not a completely species and what you want in a relationship should be what your ideal partner wants. You can't complain about your romantic interest to be uninteresting when you don't try to ask him questions, to be distant when you're never engaging conversations, etc. Don't be shy and don't try to play mind games, just say what you want to say honestly and see where it goes. If you want to interact with him, text him first. If you want to bring up a topic that interests you, ask him about it first to see what he thinks of it.
