The great annihilator is one hell of a versatile goth rock album, there's a bit of everything in it when you think about it. There a bit of kitsch, metaphysical acid trip, disturbing love ballads, industrial contemplation... I can't thank Jarboe enough for elevating the sound and reach of the band since Children of God. Imo The great annihilator is the quintessential goth album, it's not the best or the most influential but it represents the subtlety and nuances of the genre the best.

Soundtracks is just a fucking mastodont, although listening to it throughfully is kinda of hard because of how sonically inconsistent it is and its length. But there's many things to love about the chaotic flow of this album, it's kind of like life when you think about it in some way. My favorite tracks are : Volcano, The Sound, Animus, Helpless child, I love you this much, empathy and the beautiful days.

I also love the trilogy a lot, my fav album from it is the glowing man.
