How do you achieve this type of hair texture

My hair is of very similar length and although it is also textured and not straight like this picture I don’t know how to style my hair like this. What products and washing routine should I follow to get this type of texture. I’m having it cut slightly tomorrow also so how much should I get off/ what should I ask for

Have you tried salt water ?
