Not so much "mewing" but not mouth breathing. Mouth breathing is not cope and it can drastically affect your facial development.

I used to be a mouth breather until my seventh grade, and was severely recessed. When I stopped, my jaw and chin grew normally and went forward about 10-11mm. Not exaggerating.
