How much sustenance does knowledge really give you?

You're locked in a perfect learning center with all the possible knowledge a human mind can comprehend. When you enter it, you have to choose a time of stay from a magnitude of 10. so 1, 10, 100, 1000, ... years. And when it finally ends, you get transported to reality - like no time has passed.

You'll be accompanied by an AI robot who is the perfect teacher for everything you want. But it is unable to be friendly with you (it won't even say your name), it will only help you learn in the most optimal way (no friends there).

Only "leisure" activities are equipment for physical exercise, a swimming pool, a bed, and endless rows of books. Also games as well (if multiplayer, the AI can simulate opponents' moves, but no human companionship) bc you might want to learn them (so I count them as knowledge).

How long would you think you could last there without losing your sanity? How much of life's value comes from knowledge rather than connection? What are the main things you'd pursue for "knowledge?"

yeah. confirmed high iq for 1. realizing this and 2. being able to admit it.

again, you are still the winner because i've set this up so that you can't guess the correct dot placement completely out of the blue; even if you see a different pattern, if the end solution is right, that qualifies as you being correct. if i d framed it like there were 2 or 3 possible placements that were the right answer and you came up with the correct one while offering some overcomplicated "explanation" as the solution, it wouldn't mean much, but it was much more open-ended

I think i could last for a while like 1 or 2 years but it would be tough and the lack of human interaction would start to weigh on me, even with all the knowledge available and i’m not really mentally strong


the value of life? it comes from human connections , ofc knowledge is important but its the interactions and emotions shared that give it meaning and i want to share my knowledge too


what i'd probably study in a place like that would be areas like psychology or something related to human cognitive capacities ,or maybe something with time travel if it's possible haha

yeah, i don't think there really is any knowledge at least for humans that you can really justify of staying more than 100+ years to study. so i'd oscillate between 10, to 100 years tbh. 1k is just too much
