I'll be honest I've never seen a tomboy that looked like they could "pass" as a guy, in the same way I've never seen a femboy "pass" enough as a woman. I think an aspect of these terms is the fact it still looks like their specific sex but has an aesthetic associated with the other gender.

Only time I've seen people "pass" is when it entered transgender territory and it's usually because they're taking hormones, surgery, or are binding or something, but I wouldn't say a femboy is the same thing as a trans woman or a tomboy being the same thing as a trans man.

This debate always reminds me of Andrew Tates tweet though.
