Yeah but I also feel like I'd rather just binge than pick up another bad habit ngl
Probably for the best, usually the other unhealthy cope isnt enough to stop binging so you end up binging + doing the extra bad habit (cigs for example)

It's usually triggered when I'm like sad or stressed or some shit but idk how to stop it
try to hold off for 20 minutes before eating the meal if it's a stress binge the desire will probably go away in 20 minutes, that's what i try to do atleast

Unironically tho what helped me was that i bought a shit ton of japanese yams and had some important rules

1. I can eat as much of it as I want
2. If i want to binge on some junk food or sweets i have to eat the yams first, junk after
3. I can't substitute the junk food with the yams, i can only add on the yams and i have to allow myself to freely eat the junk food after (removes the reward/punishment association from the junk food)

Don't weigh yourself while doing it and no matter how hard you're panicking you cannot restrict because it ruins the mental progress

I did this for a month, I was pretty bloated the whole time. I ate yams for everything. If i wanted a few pieces of candy? I first ate a yam and then ate candy. Etc. Then one day, I wanted to eat something, so I started eating the yams but i was just so bored of it. And then i realized i was full. And that I didn't even want to eat junk. I was just full. I just stopped chewing halfway and just kind of chilled out realizing that I stopped the stress association with food completely.

I kept eating yams but I'd also reach for something like greens, eggs, meat, etc for meals. I'd eat some chocolates after because why not. And so the amount that i was eating naturally decreased. At the end of the month i stepped on the scale and I actually dropped like 2 lbs because most of it was bloat, its actually pretty hard to overeat yams

If you dont like yams you should pick
1. Something cheap and accessible
2. Something relatively healthy
3. Something you genuinely like eating
4. It has to be filling

You can't do this shit with something like celery or spinach, you wont be full enough, it has to be something your body physically would be satiated with, i could have picked eggs but i fucking hate eggs

i brush my teeth. idk why this helps but it makes me feel like i alr ate. or i just suck on a jolly rancher. (pretty low in calories)
Unfortunately this is only good for the surface level/short term, she has to change her perception of food completely to be able to successfully stop binging
