You should be like that for the right guy, think carefully before going out with just anyone. Appearance is very important in dating, but that doesn't mean a good-looking person will necessarily a good person

And then comes in the halo effect

i’m like that even with friendships😕, i already have a bf he’s a good guy but he said himself i shouldn’t become too dependent for many reasons

I know it might sound funny, but what would that effect be?
I gotchu.
From what I remember, the halo effect is a cognitive bias where we associate good traits with someone who looks good.
And someone who looks good with good traits. Even if they don't have such at all.

It's kinda why people like Patrick Bateman even though he's a nut job.
He's either delusional or a psychopath depending on how you interpret him, but one thing he certainly is, is Hot. And as a result you got a whole community around him (sigma males) who think that he must secretly have the right philosophy to being successful and being a "Wolf" in a world of "sheep" because he's played by an attractive man.
There are obviously other factors going into that like how he's rich and such, but the point still stands.

Another example would have to be one I remember in some TedEd video. Where it asked the viewer (who assumed the role of an injured person in a hospital) which doctor they would want to treat them.
The viewer had a choice between two doctors.

1. This doctor

Or, 2. THIS doctor.

Most people would incidentally choose doctor #2. And would make the choice almost unconsciously because of how we, once again, associate attractiveness with OTHER good things.

I recommend you look into this on your own because I gave a half assed explanation compared to what else is out there on it.

Just know this, looksmaxxing itself takes the halo effect into GREAT use and importance. If you told a looksmaxxer that they would probably agree.
Luckily, any looksmaxxer worth their bone structure would probably also realize that the halo effect is a double edged sword.
Attractive people often might not develop much of a personality, because they end up not having to. Other people's biases are a crutch to them.

Which is why it's pretty important we have the lifemaxxing niche and threads dedicated to non looksmaxxing things on this website.

When your smv reaches 10/10 you won’t be saying this shiiii

Thank you so much, I didn't know that, but I think it can be compared to how people treated Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, and Jeffrey Dahmer, saying they were innocent. The funniest thing is comparing this to ugly serial killers, like the Toolbox Killers and John Wayne Gacy People were already saying they were murderers right from the start.

Yeah I was gonna mention all those guys but I was worried the reply would be too long
Youre WELCOME!

He's completely clueless if he said that. Genesis 2:24 "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." I hope he has good reasons for saying that.

I enjoy researching this; appearance really does matter. I want to ascend as quickly as possible so that when I meet her, Then she'll really fall in love with me, then it will be harder for her to think about cheating on me, and I'll be a good person and really care about her.

If it works out, and she turns out to be a good person who wants to have children (she seems to), I'll need to date for once in my life.

Looking back now, this whole Sigma community thing was just a way to represent a bunch of depressed teenagers and pre-adults who liked to project His critiques and opinions on movie scenes. I think that's the definition of "literally me."

That happened to me too until I realised that doing that made me less loved by anyone cause they saw me as annoying maybe this could help
