i think is to understand the dinamics that you have with persons, one are enablers and others are deniers.

i think it's a fine balance you have to thread depending on what you want.

But understand that you have to conduct yourself as if people where little pavlov dogs to reinforce bad conducts or good conducts this is it's key, if something you like happens give positive reinforcements " you made me feel loved, seen etc" and if not do not respond to the stimulae. As well understanding that you also have bad spirals of conduct.
