What sucks about modern dating compared to 20 years ago is that back then (at least where I live) signals were a little easier to read. Then, the signal for a woman having been interested was that when the man offered to pay the bill, the woman said thank you. If she wasn't interested she would offer to split it. I think now it's more confusing. She might not be interested. She might just want to go to the beach and she figures you're the best guide she has.
