Good question.

As a kid, it was first the Roblox forums, Minecraft forums, and other game/website forums. Then as I got older it was forums related to software, like for tech support, Linux, open source projects, etc., and then it turned into forums for privacy and security, which then made me turn to prepping / survival forums, and then I turned to more general / broad forum communities.

I was always a lurker though so I rarely posted, and when I did post stuff, I would always make my posts very detailed, which always knocked them up in search engines. There's a good chance some of the users here have read one of my posts on one of the other forums accidentally not realizing it was one of my posts (or not, who knows). I've even had a moment where before I switched from Microsoft to Linux, I was Googling my Windows problem and the top result ended up being a post I made like 6 years ago. I didn't even realize it was me until I logged into my account to make a reply to the thread and then I saw it was my post.

Anyways. I found .com from .org mainly. Technically it was a mixture of .org and SEO.
