There probably is an answer for this on the forum already, but I've been trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation around my mouth for about 5 months now and not much is helping.

I've used Azelaic acid 10%, Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and neem oil. Whenever I'm outside I spam 50 spf sunscreen. I've bought some Kojic Acid in hopes of it helping but atp I think I might just be coping.
I need to put on a fat layer of bb cream and fraud whenever I'm trying to go outside and I'm pretty tired of it.

I was wondering if any people on here had any products that might be able to help.
As long as its not a prescription drug, I'll most likely buy it as I have money to spend lol.

Genetic predisposition definitely exists. This type is very common in Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/South Asian skin types. A naturally dark area around the mouth becomes more pronounced over time.
This is usually caused by: toothpaste, hair removal product irritation, or mask/friction. This type of pigmentation fades slowly, sometimes not 100%, but 60-80%. Dm me

Niacinamide is clinically effective at a concentration of 2–5% there is no evidence of lightening at 20%, and there is a risk of irritation. The pigment-lightening effect of topical glutathione is also not strongly supported by scientific evidence.
