Ofcourse bro, i was in the exact same spot as. you. I just found some buddies in my class, hung out with them, eventually got a gf ( wild ride shes now an ex) but made my hs experience better more than worse.

Some stuff will suck but you will be GLAD that it happened bc, just like bonesmashing, somethings must be broken before it can come back STRONGER.

Yeah many people like to say "you should go anyway because at least you'll have your friends" but then act like your friends having dates while you don't will not make you feel worse or at the very least won't have you positioned as an awkward third wheel for most of the night. Either way I'm sure you know deep down what you really wanna do based on the situation, and if that choice is keeping your peace intact then don't let anyone stop you.
