I go to college in about 3 1/2 months and i’m 6’1, 160 pounds at ~ 17% body fat. I’ve been going to the gym for 7 1/2 months, so I’m still a beginner.

I’m currently lean bulking but I just realized that by the time college starts, i’ll be ~ 18-20% body fat and my face will descend (I’m actually starting to see bloat kick in already). But, it will also allow me to be fully optimized and maximize muscle growth. I’d lean bulk for all of freshman year and spend my freshman year being a bit subhuman, but then I’d have a great muscle base to do an aggressive cut leading into my sophomore year of college and mog for the rest of college. I’d be able to maintain that body fat% and slowly build a very impressive physique at the cost of being subhuman my freshman year

Or

I could body recomp over the summer and slowly lose fat and build very slight muscle. I’d lose enough fat to get to sub 15% body fat. Not shredded, but my face leanness genetics are pretty solid, so I know I’ll definitely be able to mog at that body fat%. However, I’d spend nearly 4 months not being able to maximize muscle growth. It’d take a bit longer to achieve my preferred body fat % and muscle mass, likely middle of sophomore year compared to start of sophomore year if I do the first option. I’ll go into college being slightly twink ish, but I’d lean bulk comfortably and not get fat at all my freshman year and end it at like ~ 16% body fat with a decent amount of muscle

What is the best move? Optimize muscle and my future or slightly delay my future potential to have a good freshman year

Bros tapped in 🙏 😭 I do FB 3x a week just because I don’t trust FBEOD since studies on freuqency past 3x are pretty limited imo. But yeah, I think that’s what I’ll do

I feel like frame is eventually law, but do you think face is still law in college?
at least in my experience yes, when u was a gymcel i def pulled but was hltn and got way less play then i do now tbh

i still have a decent frame but way better face=more game imo

it also depends on type girls u want to attract tbh

Brvtal Trvke. I’ll take your advice kittysaar, thanks bhai

the first few weeks of college are really important, your interactions with the new people you meet would determine your friend group and social circle for a long time
your choice eitherway
but looking your best when entering college is ultimately better

Yeah, that’s my biggest fear. I feel like first impressions are everything and I don’t wanna walk in being a LTN chud at 20% BF. Body recomp probably better in that case innit?

Yeah,
personally i've observed a few kilos of weight and fat could really change one's face
lean and mean for the win

damn getting foids easy at 6’1?
Don’t get approached very much, but often times when I approach I get really good treatment and high success rate. Probably 80%.

It’s skewed because conversion rate is different and idk my conversion rate, as well as the fact that I’m still in high school.

I’d take that 80% with a handful grain of salt
