even my parents, since i was little

i’ve always refused to call anyone sir or maam because it felt so artificial to me

for one i’m just giving not-earned authority, but not even that, it was mostly because it felt forced, it felt like roleplay

it serves no natural purpose, it’s just be roleplaying, pretending they have authority they don’t have realistically. everyone follows this roleplay for respect, i can’t bring myself to, it’s so fake

honestly at a big chunk of my life i just called them “teacher” regardless of the name, during highschool i called them by their last name, yea i did say ms and mr, never sir or maam though, i usually said the “mr” or “ms” part fast because id cringe myself out saying it

"I am not a SIR! I work for a living you MOOORON!"

why should i? genuine question what purpose does it have aside from giving old people ego for simply being old
because you need to be nice to everyone bro

hm perhaps this is a cultural thing in the uk everyone calls teachers sir and mrs or ms. like when discussing a teacher with a friend what would you call them i’d say mr x or mrs x

Back before modern medicine and all that
It actually would've been kind of an achievement to reach 70 or 80, for example.
I wouldn't be too mad at my elder for acting egoistic at that age, considering in that time it would've been a legitimate challenge to get that old

i would just say it , just not give in authority into it

lol i mean i don’t really consider sir as a sign of authority it’s just what those n*****s are called like calling a police “officer” it’s just what they are
