with big fortunate 500 companies I agree there are dei quotas sometimes

but when it comes to smaller scale businesses and companies it doesn't happen as much

I remember a time when a company mistakenly put that they only want white employees on their job application which wasn't intended to be seen by candidates and got dragged in the news for it

No the govt, private influence agencies. Meaning they have contracts with those companies that they need to hire diversity in exchange of money/investments etc. Not a law but you def create a online badbuzz if you go against the grain
