I don't know the exact cause but I think it's because I was a NEET for over 10 years, I slept when I wanted to and woke up when I wanted to. That has ruined my sleeping schedule in the long run.

I've done that too many times. It's not good for your brain.

Roting here is not good too but we are still here bhai
This is actually nothing compared to the damage you're doing to your brain by not sleeping at all. I will ChatGPTmaxx to show you.

Not sleeping is bad for your brain because it impairs your ability to learn and remember, disrupts emotional regulation and decision-making, and prevents the brain from clearing out toxic waste products that build up during the day. Sleep is crucial for forming new neural pathways, consolidating memories, and maintaining the proper function of key brain regions like the hippocampus, and a lack of it can increase the risk of cognitive decline and mental health issues.
Cognitive and memory impairment
  • Memory consolidation:
Sleep is when the brain processes and consolidates new information, moving it from short-term to long-term memory. Without enough sleep, you may struggle to learn and remember things, a process that involves synaptic plasticity and is disrupted by sleep deprivation.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving:
Sleep deprivation impairs your ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and pay attention. It can make you less adaptable to change and more rigid in your thinking.
  • Information processing:
Lack of sleep slows down your thinking and reaction time, to a degree similar to being intoxicated.
Emotional and psychological effects
  • Emotional regulation:
Sleep deprivation makes it harder to control emotions, which can lead to mood swings, irritability, and an increased risk of mental health disorders like anxiety and depression.
  • Risk-taking behavior:
Sleep loss is linked to increased risk-taking behavior and can make it more difficult to manage stress.
Physical brain health
  • Waste removal:
During sleep, the brain clears out toxic proteins that build up during the day. Accumulation of these proteins, like amyloid-beta, is linked to the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's.
  • Neurological damage:
Chronic sleep deprivation may cause neurological damage in brain regions important for learning and memory, like the hippocampus.
  • Impact on brain connectivity:
It can disrupt resting-state brain networks, affecting how different brain regions communicate with each other.
