I've pulled two all nighters this week. Last night I spent the entire night watching as many videos abt north Korea as a I could. While I ate lunch with my sister I watched interviews and street footage. I can't stop thinking about it. I can't sleep I haven't been able to sleep so I need something to think abt but I'm not sure why it's north Korea

north korea is a victim of the west and especially america, without them and their discriminatory sanctions, north korea would be thriving in a beautiful communist society
I have a bias against communism

I always get like that. Focus on stuff and spend a while learning everything about it that I can.

Here's something you might like. This book is a collection of stories from defectors who escaped from DPRK in the late 90's and early 2000's. It focuses on the more ordinary aspects of what it's like to live there. Definitely one of my favorite books I've read.

Communism fucking sucks. Under communism the bourgeoisie is simply replaced by the inner party and those who can form ugly relationships with them. Communism has never worked. It's predicated on a system of top down management and endless quotas that must be "met" by any means necessary.
