Genetically speaking I should be extremely prone to addiction, but it seems like my body just stops itself whenever it wants to

I met up with ruby early this year and started smoking cigs with her, obviously assumed I developed a nic addiction since I started smoking even after the first trip, but then about 2 months ago my body just decided it wasnt good for me and forced me to stop.

Then I picked up vaping, tasted amazing, felt light and refreshing, and felt wonderful, and then it happened again, my body decided enough was enough, and now I can't hit a vape for more than 2 hits in a 5 minute span without literally gagging.

It's a super useful trait, and I'm assuming it's because my body somehow figures out (either through me getting sick, or through something else) that my habit is unhealthy, and makes it less appealing to me.

Here's what google said:
The Survival Mechanism: Humans evolved a powerful defense mechanism to keep us from repeatedly eating poisonous food. If you consume something with a distinct flavor or smell and then get sick shortly after (even if a random stomach bug caused the illness, not the food/vape itself), your brain immediately connects the two
Dopamine Burnout: Nicotine creates an addiction by hacking your brain's dopamine (reward) system. However, sometimes the physical toll of smoking (inflammation, mild respiratory distress, or subtle changes in your body's chemistry) starts to outweigh the chemical reward.
Subconscious Rejection: Even if you didn't consciously feel "sick," your body might have hit a threshold where it recognized the toxicity. The brain can suddenly flip a switch, cutting off the craving because it perceives the substance as a threat rather than a reward.

Anyways, I'm officially smoke-free, unintentionally, just don't want to anymore

Just felt like a strong redbull

This happens to me with certain energy drinks if I abuse them, some drinks I can't have anymore because they just give me awful headaches or nausea. Caffeine in general is fine though I just have to change the drinks I have.

Never tried anything further than caffeine so can't attest to whether or not I carry this over to other substances

YOU AND RUBY DO COCAINE? Wow.

Hey how do you get a plug and how much do the drugs cost

What'd it taste like
Extremely strong puke, if I had to describe the flavor in 1 word I'd just say "strength", because its so extremely overwhelming that it makes you make this face while it goes down

For a line the flavor only lasted like 5-15 seconds, but after the pile shit was miserable

We don't do it actively, we just tried it together

It was complimentary, I don't know the prices but I hear they're expensive

My mom told me she had something similiar, my great grandpa was a heavy smoker and got her on it but awhile after it became habit she just stopped without issue.
She could be lying though, hopefully not.

For me I've not been able to get addicted to anything in general, even for short periods of times.

Gambling, alcohol, weed, vaping, cigarettes, etc, gave me ZERO enjoyment response when I did them. I kept hitting a vape throughout the day because I was tryna figure out why people couldn't part with them and I thought I just wasn't doing it long enough when I first hit it or something (didn't immediately feel any different), so I just kept hitting it until I realized nothing was happening even after hours of doing it so I just stopped.

My family is very prone to addiction, even my twin sister, so I'm not sure why I'm not able to enjoy any of it. I kinda wished I could at least get some enjoyment out of them temporarily just so I just know why people like it but I haven't been able to at all. I've tried several times to get drunk, all it does is make me sleepy I guess. I drank a whole chocolate moonshine bottle in 1 setting and stayed awake and it did literally nothing so I just went to bed and I didn't even wake up with a hangover. :sadge: Felt scammed out of my money.

I'm wondering if an aspect of it is my joy responses is just fried or something because I don't know why none of it works on me. I've spoken about it many times where I've tried to do stuff like that and I just can't enjoy it. I think I've spoken to the mods before about me not being able to enjoy gambling when I went to a casino.

What was weed like?
Did you not get high at all or was it just not enjoyable to be high.
I legit couldn't get high. I mean it was kind of a bad setup ngl I was smoking it out of a cut up soda can but my sisters got high from it. In regards of like any physical sensation, it just felt like I was inhaling anything else I've tried.

Not even sure why she made me do it through a can because from what I remember she was a heavy weed user and so she had like actual smoking/weed equipment she could've used lmao maybe she didn't want my cooties on her fancy glass-blown pipes.

Yeah I was thinking (although idk the weed laws in other places) why couldn’t you get a roll or a bong.
