Rage i genuinely hate when people pretend to like my interests to talk to me

i don't mean like a basic interaction, sorry for the mix up. i used to be friend with someone who pretended to ACTUALLY like my interests, like would genuinely act like they loved the kinda music i was in to, or the creators i watch. it just seems so desperate, especially when you know they don't actually give a fuck and only talk to you when their bored

I still don’t think that’s a bad thing. Me and my best friend of 10 years barely share the same interests but because I really like him as a person we’ll both listen to what they have to say about their obsessions. I’ll be honest, I don’t give a fuck about football but I’ll go to a game, watch matches with my friend since it’s what he loves and I’ve been honest about since day one

basically they kinda stopped talking to me cus they got other friends but when their friends aren't there they larp liking my interests. once they were saying they loved a certain creator i like when they genuinely don't know anything about him. it's hard to explain it's a negative thing without actually going into descriptive detail. basically they only try to engage with me over things they hear me talk about because they haven't made an effort to keep knowing me in so long that they just pretend that our interests are shared. it's really only because they need someone to talk to
