I got really fair skin yet i have never really burnt...?

Like I've seen several people with darker skin than mine getting sunburns.
The bad part is that sun doesn't catch me that fast.
I discovered I could tan 2 years ago when I feel asleep in my yard( never been to seaside so I wasn't spending a lot of time outside and I was always fully covered).
I've noticed I have to stay in the sun one hour 3 times a week to get tan and to maintain it.

Sadly I can't tan anymore since I fear the skin damage. I like the tan but I don't want wrinkles and spots

Like with most things in life, it relates to your genetics. Medication or autoimmune disorders are the primary reasons why someone might react differently to getting sunburns, that's not related to the melanin production directly, but obviously there's way more to it than that. I have a thread on this subject if you'd like to learn more in depth about the science of it, but sunburn is an immune response. When you burn, it's your body attempting to repair itself. The way our bodies repairs itself can be dependent on genetics or medication. The people you compare yourself to might have weaker immune responses.

Other things like environment play a major role in it, so RhodoniteRed is technically correct. It doesn't matter if you're comparing the most white pale person to the most dark black person, their exposure to the sun will always be different. The only way you can truly compare something like this is if the people involved had 1:1 exposure since birth. Well, unfortunately for us, we can't really study something like that. So she's correct it's probably an environment thing. The most simple answer is normally the correct one.
