I went to this store earlier today. I bought some food, paid for it and then the storekeeper said “Thank you!” I was like WTF. My brain shut down. I stuttered “T-thanks.” I forgot how to socialize.

I realize that they were immigrants, and their culture is very respectful, they show gratitude often. I’m not used to that so I was taken aback. Usually storekeepers say “Have a good day” but they don’t say thank you.

Anyway then I heard them talk in their language and they started laughing, they probably said “what a fucking weirdo lol”.

You know what’s funny. Last year, I had a job at a furniture store. My colleagues and managers were all female. My manager said (unironically, she was 100% serious) “You seem like a very social guy.” She’s not entirely wrong. I used to be very social. It’s just that rotting for ten years nuked my social skills, but I guess I can undo the damage somehow, even if it’s just temporary, if I’m socializing more than usual.

Exactly, their countries are so advanced that they don’t need to emigrate. I feel like they’re the only two countries where they’re actively downgrading by moving to the west, since they’re so far ahead, ESPECIALLY Japan. While Brazil does have a large population with Japanese ancestry, they moved there at a time when Japan wasn’t as advanced as they were today, like a century ago.

Though with him, he often ends up arguing with me. I also helped get fridx unbanned since he was unfairly banned as well by him.
