Hey you a good old gun. A 9 millimeter with a 16 to 18 round capacity should be good. Not one of those itty bitty girl guns because while they look cute the kickback is much worse because they don't weigh much. My wife sleeps with a Glock 19 locked and loaded in a retention holster up on the top rack of the closet where the kid can't get to it.
