Fair skin still doesn't look good on everyone just because it's desired. It's desired in my culture because it meant you stayed at home and didn't have to tan as you worked in the fields. In other cultures, they desire tanned skin because it meant you had enough time to go our on vacation and stuff. Also some people genuinely look better tan
