Discussion I have repairmen at my house. It’s so awkward

Like wtf do I do. Stand around and being silent? Or awkwardly sitting in the house doing nothing?

I’m hiding at the dinner table or kitchen jf. I made a small talk on why they need to fix the water pipes/cables, then I continued hiding. On ear distance so that I can still hear them. I also turnoff the TV volume to prevent awkwardness and loudness

do you have to stay inside the house? i’d honestly leave then come back. other option would be working on your computer if you have one, just working on something random. you can also just watch tv or play on your phone and act like it’s something important.

I could never leave my house alone to some stranger. Even if I trusted that repairman, I ain't leaving for shit.

Also it was always super awkward for me too. Had to get someone to fix the HVAC unit and I just stood there in my PJs like "I don't know if I should stand by and watch or just do something else." I got better with it over time, but I can't tell if that's because I got older or what. It's not like I get repairs done often.
