Serious I need assistance, pleade

Serious thread. I tuned 17 a month ago, and I’m behind on so many things in life because my parents never taught me how to and refuse to let me do it. I don’t have a drivers permit, and I can’t get it for another month until I get my prescription glasses. I don’t know how to clean, I barely know how to wash and dry my clothes, I can use a stove and that’s about it.

Growing up, my parents told me they’ll just do it for me, so I was never taught basic life skills. I’m heading off to college in a year meaning I’ll be alone in a new city without their help.

I don’t know what to do, I’m so behind in life. There are some things that are genuienly out of my control because my parents are too protective of me.

Don't worry about that. Get a girlfriend and she'll teach you all of that.
 
You’re not actually as far behind as you think. A lot of people show up to college not knowing how to cook more than ramen, or how to properly do laundry, or even how to budget. You’ve just had less practice because your parents stepped in a lot — but that’s something you can fix in a year.
Think of it like a checklist you’re going to work through before you move out. Stuff like: doing laundry without ruining clothes, keeping a bathroom and kitchen clean, cooking a handful of easy meals, managing your own schedule, keeping track of money, and figuring out transportation.

Youtube and practice is the only way 🤞
You’ll get the hang out of it pretty quickly when you move out
