i should be happy for my friend but i feel so sad

my friend wants to be a priest and join the seminary
but bc of that he’s becoming each time more serious idk
and he’s going in 3 years but when he goes he will leave the internet almost completely which means i may have to talk to him by letter and very occasionally on the phone
but i’m so sad bc we talk to eachother everyday yk
how will i live without one of my biggest emotional supports? one of the only friends i love and that makes me happy?
i hope i atleast have more friends or a bf by then
