For awhile I wasn’t super close just because of family issues relating to religion but I feel a renewed interest. Especially when it came to finally moving to college and being by myself.

I still worry now but I just realize that I can count on them no matter what. People change but he has no limit for love. Idk just a little rant I literally have nobody right now since I’m all alone for like a week

I love to hear that
The path with God will have many downs, but not giving up on him is important

I've never been interested in religion
If there is a god, then he must be a cruel one.

if there's no bad in the world how is life supposed to be a test exactly? some people do right and those deserve heaven some do wrong and those deserve hell

by saying evil shouldn't exist you're stripping yourself from freedom of choice

I never evil shouldn't exist, I just said if there is a god, then he is cruel.
why would god put humans on earth just to be tested? and why would god let innocent children die in childbirth?

sorry if these questions are silly i've just never really put any thought into religion before.

I’d save your energy
Many ppl on this forum are unable to see others opinions and learn from them. Especially in religious debates

I'm open minded and willing to listen. I'm just uneducated when it comes to religion. I'd love to hear other people's perspectives!

why would god put humans on earth just to be tested?
We were put on Earth to be the pinnacle of live. Our greed and sins from as early as Eve, has been the start of the “test”. To see if we can uphold the righteous spirit that God has with us.
To call it pointless like many due is just a bad ideology. Those who say God should just change wrong doing into righteousness do not recognize that we can do the same. But we are limited by our own desires and the sins that we commit.

My take exactly. Why strip us of free will? That would just take us back to the garden of eden.

again in my religion

if a child dies they immediately go to heaven eternal paradise forever where there is nothing bad and all good and you get everything you want

lets say you live 100 cruel years at maximum, would it not be worth it for the eternal bliss you're gonna experience. getting everything you want whenever you want however you want with no sadness no pain no boredom

That makes sense. I do believe that life is beautiful as well. Why did god create humans in the first place, though? That's the part I don't understand.
I also struggle with believing that a god exists due to the lack of evidence.

We were made to be the “rulers” of the Earth in a sense. They are countless times in the Bible that prophets and Jesus himself have stated that humans are above all other creatures. So we were God’s ultimate creation in a way.

There are thousands of years of theology that backs an existence of a God.

But I understand that, that may seem like a stretch. I myself believe, just bc of the faith that I have tbh nothing crazy. As I truly found God when I was 14 and was not a believer beforehand

I'll do some research on my own thx. Are there any resources you recommend?

Isn't there also that one mathematician that said its better to believe in God and be right because theres always an upside, even if you're wrong minimal loss and if you don't believe and God is in fact real then there is a downside. Not a great reason to believe in God since that logic also has some flaws.

I feel like the upside would be negated if you already have a strong moral compass.

I honestly recommend YouTube videos. Whether that be preachers like “Father Syperion” or logical debates between atheists and Christians

Yes, but I am a big believer in following a religion bc of your faith. You shouldn’t pick a religion to follow bc of its risk to reward ration.
As Jesus always said to his disciples to leave everything behind for the faith of him. In the end I do not expect any rewards for my faith, if I am put to hell then I deserve it for my sins and ignorance against God. I follow him bc I truly believe in his existence and the love he has for us all.

Yeah I also believe not because I'm expecting a reward. Theres many instances where Jesus said not just do good because you expect something in return or some good favor. I would rather follow with my heart.
