In village they didn't had shoes, they wore some uncomfortable stuff and in winter just wrapped it with some things to warm it
Only Jewish children had them
Was working at construction during war and saved German life from an accident at work when they were at very high height, he luckily made to catch his his hand. He got an certificate for it by saving that German, later some Ukrainian girl accused him of stealing her shoes (he didn't and never seen them on his eyes) they took him to forest to shoot him but it saved his life. They keep contact with each other until that german had to move into west
Later became an partisan that killed Germans, had to fight with Ukrainian banderovites that robbed, tortured villages. It was unimaginable, years before poles and ukrainians were living peacefully in villages, having marriages and so on
He was captured by them and tried make him tell where are other partisans, he kept replying he doesn't know. They were hitting him with metal rod until he fallen on grass. After couple more tries to get him talk, they took him to an very small cabine, around 3m3 without windows and only small hole on top of wall, It was winter and he was naked, cold air was coming through that hole. To not get frozen he was nonstop walking for nearly 3 days straight. Some Ukrainian throwed a bread with paper text to not run, that they will release him. When he was released there were banderovites with guns, thankfully they didn't shot him
This is same person I used to talk as child, I'm glad that I knew how to behave and I always rejected money from him. Unimaginable trauma, times for human beings.
I haven't been in village since 2 years because I'm ashamed of how uneducated person I am
About Ukrainians I have only positive feelings since I was In friend group with them and they were the best people I met. I sabotaged my relationships... They still always hug me when we see eachother
