I remember being younger and people being so judgemental if you said you valued looks. It's like in school when you get asked what you'd do with 10 million dollars. 95% either lie and say "charity" as the very first thing.

There was so much cope back then. Guy ditches popular girl for nerdy/tomboy type because she just gets him and listens and it's a mean stacy. That doesn't happen

Now people don't care to admit it. They don't care to call you ugly. Of course it's bad in a sense but which is worse? During the first season of Love is Blind people acted like if the person wasn't physically attracted to their partner once they met that they were monsters. But it's human nature.

This wasn’t the first season but the whole drama with the Megan fox lookalike still gets me 😭. They really set that woman up

Like it's crazy we used to live in a world where caring about your looks was so hated on.

It was a failed attempt to empower ugly women even though it just emphasized the fact that only pretty women get leniency to dress in clothes they genuinely like and act ND without being ridiculed

There was so much propaganda in that time trying to give non popular pretty girls hope. Like how losers get with the pretty girl in the end of the movie too. That time was just ugly people's big wet dreams put on the big screen

I'm not. My boyfriend wants to reconsider having biological children with me because of my "phitrum to chin ratio" and "pedigree"

Like ew.
I mean like just the knowledge that humans WANT and LIKE attractive people. The looksmaxxing stuff becoming common is more irritating because now these people are pointing out shit they only heard which they wouldn't have cared abt a year ago. They use the knowledge to its worst advantage

society constantly goes back and forth. youre expected to care about your appearance, but only in moderation. people throw around the word "presentable," as if theres a universally accepted standard, and its considered rude or unprofessional to show up looking “unpresentable.” but at the same time, if you care too much or put in too much effort, youre suddenly seen as vain. its a narrow, often contradictory line to walk

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

Exactly. It's a double think. The whole hardmaxxing or enhancements thing is a sign. Back then plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures were SO looked down upon. "Why not just be natural"

Now you can go to Korea, come back with new skin and a new nose, fillers, etc. And people will accept you until they hate you and then it's considered pathetic again.

I think the only looks thing that society will only accept ONCE is obesity. That was during the time when saying r****d was social suicide and body positivity was the rage. People so quickly forgot about all that social justice.

It was never about it if you analyze it more deeply tho, since the twist was always that she was always secretly pretty anyways not that she didn't need to be to get what she wanted

Obesity and starvation, whatever unhealthy thing they can try to romanticize for whatever bullshit reason and they always act like fat positivity isn't actively encouraging EDs too

Blackpill* and it's not common knowledge
I think the blackpill and lookism is different. Blackpill is so much more than just being like "okay looks matter" people used to beat the dead horse of looks not mattering and that you just needed to be good. Blackpill is a total different mindset in my opinion a much more extreme view of it.

true, but it feels like it made competition 10x harder. Now that people are becoming less bluepilled, they’re actually maximising their potential they didn’t know they had.

For me at least, the less ppl to compete with, the better.

Its was a mix of culling the competition and also coping with having very low or simply no potential

"Lookism" is the tip of the blackpill iceberg
The truth is much deeper than "looks matter"
Your looks strongly dictate every facet of your life

I agree. There was just a lot more cope being shoved down people's throats in like the 2010's. Giving people false hope in a way.

That’s so true. Going from subhuman to low htn or high mtn I’ve seen this shit myself. People are so fucking shallow it’s crazy.

Got my first job because one of the coworkers thought I was cute along with a few other guys and girls. They didn’t acc give a fuck about skills since at my group interview there was legit a lunch lady who had 10 years of experience (Dunkin donuts interview) yet she didn’t get the job but the htb and htn and I did.

I see what you mean. The surge in trends like 75 hard and all this self improvement tips videos are definitely reaching the masses. Back then there wasn't as many resources at there were now. Not many pipelines

Holy. The workplace is KEY to understanding why looks matter. Its more of a organized jungle than school at times. Customer service you can tell how you're treated depending on your looks too.

It's harder now cause your competition is your entire city/country
Social media and dating apps opened pandoras box aka unchecked hypergamy
Its so over the average schmuck

Exactly. Some plus sized creators/influencers even get called "fatphobic" for being concerned for their health and losing weight. I rememeber i had fat friends who despised me because i actively was trying to lose weight when I was at my highest weight.

Tbh i can kinda get why they did what they did, they wanted good faces to represent their store. But it’s still fucked up 💀

I remember thinking shit was rigged when that lunch lady gave her responses. Only for me to be surprised on the first day which was kinda like a meet-up for all the new members that she wasn’t there at all

Evil world we live in

Workplace is highschool 2.0 with annoying bug coworkers twice your age, girls getting preferential treatment, and pedo managers getting paid for free to sit around while you do their job

True, but my n***a you are 6’7 you don’t have to worry about that shit

Just get a girl with a height fetish, there are a lot

Because it's rarely ever actually about beauty or looking good; it's the status certain beauty represents.

There's different beauty standards for thin women vs overweight women, as an example, because it's not actually about whether or not a tank top is inappropriate in the work environment or not, it's about the fact that certain people get certain privileges because they're beautiful.

These standards feel forever unfinished because they're not made for the average person to ever actually obtain, just a small %. It's why they punish you for caring too much because the 'vain' aspect they don't like is thinking you have an opportunity to be where they're at, and they don't want you there.

Exactly. Like it's all brand image. You're more likely to buy something if a pretty person is selling it to you. If you're mid or below uve gotta have REAL charisma

I hope she found something better 💔 when I worked at target and a gift shop I had morning - afternoon shifts and night shifts. Morning I would just roll out of bed and wear whatever. Night I could do my hair, makeup, and look presentable. The way it felt like I was two different people depending on how I looked was jarring. Even sometimes getting treated differently by the same people. A woman who had never seen me during the night shift saw me and I had never seen her smile at me like that and be so nice. Like in that moment I knew.

Holy shit you just described my first job word for word 😹 heavy on the pedo managers being lenient on the girls they liked

Being 6-7 isn't some kind of magic bullet.

Tom Brady is a 6'4 mtn billionaire football player and still ended up with a low mtb cyclops wife that divorced him

Height is simply a prerequisite, you still need a good looking face to attract, doesn't take a high iq to acknowledge this

"Bro just get a girl with a height fetish"
"Bro just go for 3/10 subhumans"
"Bro just..."

Yea no

I'm good, I'll retain my self respect

Fair, desperation is also a thing that women can smell like blood in the water so if they see a sad motherfucker with money its over

Yeah, anything to do with sales and customer service is a blackpilling experience. God forbid I ever go the salesman route, those kinds of offices are just highschool but worse
