I remember being younger and people being so judgemental if you said you valued looks. It's like in school when you get asked what you'd do with 10 million dollars. 95% either lie and say "charity" as the very first thing.

These standards feel forever unfinished because they're not made for the average person to ever actually obtain, just a small %. Night I could do my hair, makeup, and look presentable. The way it felt like I was two different people depending on how I looked was jarring. Even sometimes getting treated differently by the same people. A woman who had never seen me during the night shift saw me and I had never seen her smile at me like that and be so nice.
