I made my podcast last session on incel culture and looksmaxxing forums for one of my classes. It was shown to all the class and shiet.

i don't disagree with you there but I feel like not many people are dedicated enough to justify using it as a hypothetical religion. which is what the assignment is about.

I think it would be more interesting and easy to explain how looksmaxxing culture ties to the modern myth of the perfect man, toxic masculinity and the quest for mankind to reach divinity in someway. I don't think you can make lots of ties between religion and looksmaxxing.

(I do still feel like AI "religion" is definitely an easier topic to gather info on since people ACTUALLY treat is as God, but nothing about a looksmaxxing religion would be too far-fetched. It's a hot take, but definitely not a burnt one.)

AI = New God is definitely much more interesting and striking. I know an Indian teen via IG who literally copes with AI and unironically treats it like a God. I think it would also be pertinent to add exemples in fiction like 2001 a space Odyssey, Terminator or Portal to illustrate that. Anyways good luck with that I'm very interested in subjects like that, might wanna post it on the forum.
