She did other shit to make things like what you just explained stand out as a red flag, but if you really care about the other persons feelings that's a weird thing too because why entertain the fact that you are not wanting them and downplaying it so they don't get 'hurt' who gaf

My Indian girlfriend and myself reconnected with my high school bully. He was a white dude who was lowkey racist against me and the 3 of us met at this local sushi place. It felt like they were on a date. The way they were looking at each other and so deep into their conversation. He was tall and very handsome. I am super shy so I awkwardly sat there trying to speak but they would just talk over me. They exchanged phone numbers and I went home and worshipped her feet after.

i feel like saying you arent interested is the opposite of downplaying. it gets right to the point and theres no room for argument if you say it that way. ive told guys "i have a boyfriend" before and i still get bothered until i say that im still not interested. if i just said i wasnt interested right off the bat then it would cut out the annoying stuff in the middle
