i do keep it regularly healthy tho sometimes i do slip up and i have to work on it- usually in the mornings i’ll have greek yogurt with fruit and whatnot- steak and vegetables is also a regular meal with me, do you have any recs on what i should eat to debloat?
hypothyroidism is the main cause of water retention (bloat), when you don't produce enough thyroid hormones to meet your bodies needs, carbon dioxide isn't produced, which leads to
hypo-osmotic bodily fluids. You need to support your thyroid by eating pro-metabolic foods, saturated fats are good, butter is probably the easiest one to get access to. Cook everything you would normally cook in olive oil, in butter instead. You'll also need to eat lots of high-quality proteins, my #1 reccomendation is eggs, actual daily food, if you ate 8 of them a day it'd probably still be healthy to eat more, and they're insanely easy to cook, and you can cook them in butter. Also, drink milk if you haven't already, and try and eat some shellfish, oysters, shrimp, prawn, mussels, they're all good sources of high quality protein with very little fat. (also if you do get milk, get the lite low-fat milk). Now this next one sounds counterproductive, but you need to consume a lot more sugar. Preferrably from fruit juice, or in coffee. Simple sugars go straight to your brain, and are eaten up very quickly, so they won't really affect your weight, and they'll also very strongly support your metabolism. The next thing you need to do is reduce your estrogen dominance, yes, cute chubby cheeks are a feminine thing, its estrogenic, but too much estrogen can cause TOO MUCH swelling. You need to do a few things for this:
1. Avoid PUFA's (poly unsaturated fats).
This means avoid most seed oils, or most things with seed oils in them. Seed oils aren't evil or anything, but poly-unsaturated fats will fuck you up if you aren't already healthy and you don't have the gut biome to support their digestion.
2. Increase progesterone (to counter estrogen)
Best way to do this is live healthy. You need to sleep 9-10 hrs a night, go outside and get vitamin D a lot, eat foods high in magnesium, zinc, & vitamin B6. But heres a tip: most of the time if you're taking a supplement, you won't actually get any benefit from it, because it's not
bioavailable. this is why most serious supplement companies tell you to take their supp at mealtime, but thats still imperfect. Before taking a supplement I want you to look up "What makes (such and such) bioavailable), and then eat that.
3. Drink less water
This goes HARD against conventional advice on this forum, but you should drink a lot less water. Switch to better hydrating drinks like milk, or orange juice. you need the potassium and calcium to support fluid balance and satiety, 8 glasses of water a day will dilute your electrolytes and make water retention a lot worse. Also, eat more sodium, 10-15g a day, your body literally CAN NOT regulate water without sodium. "Dont eat sodium bro" may work if you have a fucked thyroid & your body can't regulate anyway, but once you've fixed your hypothyroidism, sodium is literally essential for your body to manually debloat. and finally for this section, you need to take magnesium supplements.
Next, is reducing your stress hormones. Instead of eating one or two large meals a day, I want you to hae multiple smaller frequent meals throughout the day. This was standard practice until the conception of the modern working day by henry ford. Eating one or two big meals a day spikes your stress hormones and makes you anxious, next is to avoid excessive exercise. This ones not too important, you can still absolutely obliterate your legs in the gym and run on the treadmill for 2 hours, but don't expect to look pretty afterwards, lol, and also you have gotta sleep more, and better. need REM sleep
Finally, you probably don't have it, but if you do have carb sensetivity, focus on simple sugars instead of complex ones like carbs. thats the end of my effortpost
